the theme of the novel 'little God'

Gotta put everything down to paper before its too late. Digital paper is fine too. But I gotta write those all out. In fact, I gotta put the first sentence right below my blog title.

I have read a lot of stuff growing up, in multiple languages. I have read a ton of stuff in all forms, pamphlets, books, blogs, articles, comments, trolling comments, and computer code. But in my youth I was still a nerd. Even bullied when I was a kid. That hurt. But I read to think and reason for myself. So the next when I am fucked, at least I know why.

I guess the dangerous trend of the world nowadays is that of a carefree teenager. A teenage boy who just discovered his ability to do things and have no moral or ethics to complement his newfound strengths, or keep them in check. And the consequences of his actions shakes him to his core. Just look at all the political correctness and extremism in 21st century europe. All the postmodernism. The continent that gave humanity science and thereby enligthened all of us has seemingly fallen into an endless headache. Why? Well one theory suggests that it's because of the world wars. Humanity uses great things (science and tech in this case) for evil. And when the dust is settled, europe was hurt the most because it had such a good start at the turn of the 19th century. In this case, my thoughts have been largely influenced by youtuber whatifalthist.

What is original to me, perhaps, is the following. It's called 'the little God'. The idea really came from watching the film 'tin drum'. Growing up I have oftentimes find similar stories like 'paprika' (anime) interesting, namely that a kid got something right while everyone else got that thing wrong, because humanity's faults have an inertia originated from the perhaps necessary atmostphere of conformity in all societies. The tin drum is a great piece of literature and expresses that idea really well.

Perhaps another example that further elaborates this idea is how newton hid his discovery of dividing colored lights using a prism because his mentor believed in the exact opposite. In this case, God is little in this world. He truly is little, if we think of God as the truth. Newton has the truth, yet it's only in his minds, maybe it's a couple million neurons and that's it. Likewise, Jesus was weak and little on this earth too. But clearly he got some things right. So if you are not totally against Christianity, well, Jesus is another little God.

Perhaps this idea of 'the little God' is worth writing about is because growing up there is always the conflict of an idealized morality and a practical way of doing things. I learnt a few tricks, some call a part of it 'social engineering' some call a (perhaps different) part of it 'people skills', and some call (yet another part of) it 'risk analysis' and yet another calls it 'strategy' or 'cleverness' or 'prudence', etc. It has a million names, but at the end of the day, I see them only as tricks. Nothing more. What is more, perhaps, is religion. Ethics is its door and philosophy its other door.

To be faithful spiritually and powerful practically one needs to learn to compromise and think for oneself. One first needs to fault to learn and gain power. And it's always messy. So I want to write about 'the little God'. Because a lot of times, the world is messed up. And the righteous way is always subtle and hard to grasp. But occassionally when I found it, it just lies there, a lot of times in the most unexpected places, and shines beautifully like a ruby. It tells me that truth withstands the test of time, and the test of fame. The little God stands there yet his light has already filled my heart.

The second sentence of the Bible, if I recalled correctly, is that God separates light from darkness. I think little God would echo that idea, since life likes to keep its entropy low. So it separates itself from the 'other', whatever that might be. If you're confused, well I am not much better. If God is all good and right and just, etc. Then God must be little among all of us. Because there's so much bad and wrong and shit in this world, but it's not completely shameless and broken. The choice is in one's hands.

Anyways that is the gist of the novel's theme above. Been breeding that idea for a while now. I might feel awful writing the more autobiographical parts.

Open-source project contribution journal (continued updates, hopefully)

Here's me at my fourth job outta my college trying to contribute to some open-sourced projects in my free time. (Kinda a shame I haven't done it earlier.) What I learnt so far (day 1)      - maintainers (those given write permissions by project creators) gets to approve PR (ah AI jobs did not teach me about github)      - There are a lot of stuff I might be able to contribute to! (For example I can probably write quality pr for like 50% of this  project's first-timer friendly requests)     - I have some interesting project ideas   myself!
